Risk Disclosure

What you are taking on when you trade, and what an automated engine does and does not protect you from.

You can lose money

Trading crypto, forex, shares, indices and metals carries a high risk of loss. You can lose some or all of what you deposit, and in some markets you can lose more.

No advice has been given

Nothing on this website is financial advice, and nothing on it takes your circumstances into account. Haveningry is a technology platform, not an adviser.

1. Trading Involves Risk Of Loss

Trading crypto, forex, shares, indices and metals involves a high degree of risk. Prices move quickly and unpredictably, and it is possible to lose some or all of the money you have deposited. In some markets, and depending on the account you hold, you can lose more than you deposited.

You should only trade with money you can afford to lose without it affecting your day to day life. Money you need for rent, bills, an emergency fund or a repayment is not money to trade with.

2. An Automated Engine Does Not Remove Risk

An automated engine removes the need to watch the market yourself. It does not remove the risk of the market moving against you.

The engine follows the rules you set. If those rules are wrong for the market conditions that follow, it will follow them anyway. It does not know things outside the data it reads, and it has no view about whether today is a sensible day to be trading at all.

A well configured engine distributes risk across many trades. It does not eliminate the risk in any one of them.

3. Stop Conditions Are Not A Floor

A stop condition closes a position when a market reaches a level you set. It is an instruction, not a guarantee of that price.

Markets can move through a level without trading at it, and a position can be closed at a materially worse price than the stop specified. This most often happens when a market gaps, which usually follows news or an event while the market was closed.

A daily loss limit, where one is set, limits what is lost in a day. It does not stop the following day from losing as well.

4. Leverage Increases Both Directions

Where leverage is available on an account, it increases the size of a position relative to the money backing it. That magnifies gains and it magnifies losses by the same amount.

A small adverse movement in a leveraged position can produce a loss larger than the amount that would have been lost without leverage, and can trigger a close of the position or of the account.

5. Past Performance Tells You Very Little

Past results, whether they belong to a strategy, an engine, a market or another trader, are not a reliable indication of what will happen next. Market conditions change, and a method that worked in one set of conditions can fail in the next.

This site does not publish a performance record, an accuracy figure or a success rate, and you should be cautious of any trading website that does.

6. Technology And Execution Risk

The platform depends on market data, internet connectivity and third party systems. Data can be delayed, incomplete or incorrect. Connections can drop. Orders can be rejected, filled only in part, or filled at a different price from the one displayed when the decision was made.

None of this is within our control, and it can happen at the worst possible moment.

7. No Advice Has Been Given

Nothing on this website is financial advice. Haveningry does not know your financial situation, your objectives or your tolerance for risk, and nothing here has been prepared with those things in mind.

Before you trade, consider whether it suits your circumstances. If you are unsure, speak to a licensed financial adviser or a registered tax professional. If you are experiencing financial difficulty or gambling harm, contact a free support service in your country.

8. Verifying The Platform Before You Deposit

Take the time to satisfy yourself about anyone you trade through, including us. Check a firm's licensing status with the relevant regulator in your jurisdiction, read the terms, and be cautious of any platform that offers a guarantee of returns or that pressures you to deposit quickly.

If something about a trading proposition does not seem right, it is reasonable to slow down and ask questions. A legitimate operator will not object to that.
